Dancing. My granddaughter did not know I was watching her as she danced. She twirled and dipped totally engaged by the music in her head. There was no CD playing, no radio, no TV – only the music she could hear in her head. She was happy and free - dancing in the moment.
Do you remember the music in your head as a child? Did you dance? Can you remember knowing that this was exactly who you were meant to be? Where is the music now? Are you still dancing with the confidence of a child? Has life pushed the music back into a corner where you can hardly hear it?
You were born to dance! It was a gift given you before you were born. If you have lost the music and stopped dancing, what would life be life if you started listening again? What would change for you if you started to dance again?
There is something I know about this music and the dance. When we listen to the music and dance in the moment doing what we love to do – whether it is at home, at play or at work – time stands still and we are at our best. And then an amazing thing happens – we begin to attract others to us who encourage our dance. We begin to notice that they too are dancing.
When I watch a child dancing to the music, I too am energized by her energy. The more I watch, the freer I become. The freer I become, the more others seem to appear who are filled with energy.
You can re-create that music. You can dance again.
1. Start listening to the music today. Cast an eye back to the days when you knew the dance.
2. Five years or ten years from now, what would you like to be doing?
3. What sort of joy would you like to be experiencing?
4. What kind of people do you want to be surrounding you?
5. What action can you take today to start creating that life?
The music and the dance were given to you as a gift. It is a gift for you. It is a gift for you to share with your world. We will all be better for it.
The dance starts with a step you take today. Set aside the fear and begin the dance. Step by step, He will lead you.
