The hand to face method has to be one of the quickest and easiest rapid induction methods, and can be used by even a beginner with total success.
The method is easy, take hold of your subjects' wrist with one of your hands, and firmly but not violently move it up in front of their face, about a foot away.
Position their hand so that the palm is facing them, a few inches above eye level, be very paternal and authoritative about this, as this builds compliance and conditions your subject to follow your suggestions.
Ask your subject to focus all of his/her attention on one of the ridges on their fingers, ask them to zero in all their energy on the one line in their fingers, and focus all their concentration on that one spot.
Begin slowly moving their hand closer and closer to their face, tell them that as soon as their hand reaches their face they will be in a deep hypnotic trance. More quickly, but not too fast (we want to hypnotize them, not knock them out!), move their hand right up to their face, at the moment the hand touches firmly command "sleep" and launch right into your deepening.
A very small number of people will not fall into a trance when you command it, and will keep their eyes open. Here you have to reassure the subject that they are not doing anything wrong, and, as if everything was going exactly to plan, tell them to close their eyes and sleep, this should send them right into a wonderfully deep trace.
Be sure that you move quickly onto your deepener, as with rapid inductions people tend to spike deeply into trance, but then bounce quickly up again if you are not quick to move onto your deepener.
Remember to give the subject good, positive suggestions, and to wake them up afterwards feeling great (this way they'll be even more keen to be hypnotized next time ;).
