Lisa Lashes a leading English hard dance DJ.
Lisa Lashes was one of the pioneers of UK hard house, a genre that was developed in the UK during the 1990s. Also known as the Queen of Hard House, Lashes plays styles including hard house, hard trance, psychedelic trance and techno.
Lashes was the featured artist on the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix on October 1, 2000 and December 5, 2004. Lashes is the first and only female to be considered among the top ten DJs in the world by DJ Magazine, ranking ninth in 2000 and continuing as the top-ranking female DJ in 2001, 2002, and 2003.
In 2007 she fell to no. 83 in the DJ Magazine poll, but won the highest hard dance DJ award as well as being the highest woman, with techno DJ Magda being the only other female to make it into the top 100, as noted in the official analysis of the Top 100 Results on HarderFaster.net that were released exclusively at midnight on the night of the awards ceremony.
A River Severn boat party was Lisa's first ever gig, Sundissential gave her, her first residency; She's been playing now for over 6 years. Her first influences of wanting to be a DJ, were from going to Miss Moneypennys, Chuff Chuff and seeing people like Lisa Loud and John Kelly, then she discovered Tin Tins and saw the late and great Tony De Vit! It was then that she wanted to be a DJ! In her years of dj'ing Lisa has done it all, appeared in the worlds best clubs, outdoor events, radio and tv! She's the female DJ of the time.
